Free casework resource
And more...

Some time ago I posted about a free resource, which was (at the time) more geared towards chair layout/sizes, which in itself is a great resource.
I received another email from Nick stanchenko (the creator) informing me he has just added another section to his app (casework), and that I may appreciate it, since I've just recently built some wardrobes.
Indeed I did appreciate it, very much so, considering I'm currently building my third wardrobe (nearly finished), and any help with layout/sizes just makes things so much easier.
So in a nutshell, this clever little section of the resource will let you mock up a bookcase/carcass/unit etc. in minutes, giving you a visualization representation, with sizes/spacings much like sketch up, only extremely easier to use, and so much quicker.

Partitions and shelfs can be added in seconds, with adjustable inset depth to them as well.
The over all size of the (in my case) wardrobe carcasses can be set, again in seconds.
Click to the layout section and you'll have access to the sizes and spacings of your project.

This app has the potential to mock up a built in wardrobe on an ipad etc. at a clients house, in minutes, giving them a simple visualization of what could be done with the space, allowing them to input ideas to you, and changing things on the fly, which I personally think will give you a better chance of gaining a client, and just looks so much more professional.

Nick does have more upgrades/ideas in the pipeline, and this app is only going to get better.
Below is a demo video of the casework by Nick, which is very clear, precise and will bring you up to speed in less than 4 minutes, and you can access the app HERE.

Do I even need to write anything!
What impressed me
Today’s ingenuity comes from Mobelsnekker, in the form of a couple of sawhorses/trestles.
The trestles are extremely strong, and have t-track slots routered into the faces allowing clamping.
Woodwork ponder
I wonder if I'll ever be truly happy with one of my pieces, to the point where i can say yeah, that couldn't have been executed any better, everything is on point, and the finish has just been the cherry on top!
In case you missed my last video, here’s a link to the build video.

In case you missed it, the podcast is available to those who are interested.
